Cant sign in to my apple id from apple watch

Hello everyone! I have Apple Watch Series 3 with 8.7.1 WatchOS (can’t be upgraded any further) and an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 16.4.1 (a) (the latest update). But still when I try to log in to my Apple ID the system says that I have to update my watchOS which can’t be updated any further… I’ve tried to reset, restart and reset again but it won’t help, the message stays the same. What can I do? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your reply

I have restarted both devices as you suggested previously, but the message demanding for an update remains the same.

I also unpaired and set the Apple Watch from the beginning. Unfortunately it won’t let me sign in to my AppleID.

Are you pairing and setting up your watch as outlined in the Set up your Apple Watch resource? If so, we recommend restarting both your iPhone and Apple Watch to see if the issue persists:

Restart your iPhone

How to restart your Apple Watch

This can sometimes clear up minor software issues. If that doesn't help try unpairing, then repairing the watch to the iPhone. This step installs a new copy of watchOS to your watch:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Set up your Apple Watch
