I use Symantec VIP access for two factor authentication. I had the app on my iPhone and iWatch. It has recently disappeared from my watch. Is it no longer available on the watch or did a setting get reset that I need to change. Don't see anything on the iPhone allowing me to enable the app on iWatch.
You really need to ask Symantec.
(Personally I would not let Symantec anywhere near Apple products)
Some other products like Microsoft Authenticator also no longer run on Watch, that was MS's decision.
There is an app called Okta Verify which does run on Watch
Avoid them unless they are mission critical.
iPhone simply does not need any security apps other than those that are built-in.
Some are ok, but some are run by data miners. We have no idea which.
VPN will in most cases make your data traffic much less secure than without VPN
The app isn't for securing the Iphone. As laksh259 indicated it is used for 2FA for other applications. Log into Fidelity they will ask for a code generated by Symantec VIP access. Almost always have my watch on but don't always have my phone in the same room.
That's why I suggested Okta Verify which runs on Watch, to replace my old 2FA authenticator.
I just have a thing about Symantec, Norton, Avast, McAfee, MacKeeper, MacKeeper, Clean my Mac, NordVPN et al on Apple products because they don't use Windoze. They sell them like we need them.
Some third party apps (fidelity for instance) use symentec vip - is there a security issue that I am missing?
