Flexgate issue in MacBook Pro 2019

So this is fantastic, somebody replied to my comment "hey, did you end up looking for a way to repair it? if so, how much did it cost you? i'm having the same problem on the same exact macbook since yesterday..." So now I have to summarize what I commented before, because Apple removed my comment. They must not want me talking bad about their 2016 MacBook pro, which I bought in 2020 from Facebook marketplace as I stated in my removed comment, and it gave me issues with opening the screen a full 90° 3 years after I bought it. Apple support would not pay for it, so I told them my solution was buying a $20 monitor from the thrift store. I refuse to buy a future Apple products unless I can confirm that the only model year problems for the MacBook pro were 2016 through 2019. If anybody has any questions, please email me at.

Can you post a picture of where you actually cleaned? I cleaned The open gap under the hinges underneath the MacBook pro and the computer no longer shuts off, so I can now close the laptop screen and open it and it will show back up. This is a new development, and I just need to know where else to clean so that way the screen can completely work again. It still won't completely work at 90° But the screen no longer gradually dims as I open it. I think I'm getting close

I'm also having confusing screen issues with this year's macbook. When the laptop is opened more than 90 degrees, the colours go bad. I've attached a picture. If the angle is 90 or less, it's fine. Has anyone experienced this?

Seems like many people are having the same issues with there 2019 mac book pros, why hasn't apple recalled this issue? seems like they put in faulty cables that will wear out so that you have to upgrade you mac's

Yes! This is a problem. Same with my 2017 13" Macbook Pro.

Deciding to clean the hinge with an a soft artist painting brush and alcohol solved also the backlight issue .

Glad you managed to sort it. I ended up finding a crack in my screen so decided to have it replaced as I thought it would be better in the long run.

The design flaw is the big gap underneath the laptop exposing the flex cables. Major design flaw.

Same here. MBP is almost 4 years old. Screen went about a week ago. I was told $750 to fix it. So incredibly disappointed in Apple that this is a known issue and there's nothing to do.
