Hello, I had done a 50GB subscription for $0.99 a month and now I had chosen to downgrade it and it mentions about a plan before the subscription expires. What does it mean? Does it mean deleting a lot of data? Let me know, thanks.

Hi there,

You’re downgrading to a free 5 GB plan. As you had so far a 50 GB plan, it means you’ve got probably on iCloud more than 5 GB of used storage. If you don’t delete data from iCloud in order to have 5 GB or less of used storage before your current plan expires and the new plan starts, you won’t be able to use iCloud and iCloud won't sync or update your information. iCloud updates again when you increase your storage capacity or delete information to make more space.

See this Apple article: Downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan

Downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan - Apple Support (PH)

  • Before you downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan, first download or remove content that exceeds your new storage amount. To make sure that you don't lose any information, learn how to copy what you store in iCloud.

Keep in mind: the iCloud + subscription will be terminated depending on the start date.

If you start on August 1 and are going to cancel now, the subscription will stop on November 1, a monthly term is used.
