Replacement for MailHub on newer Macs

MailHub worked fine in Mojave but I now have M-1 chip Mac and it doesn't work [and I get 404 message when I try to go to Dervish] and I need a replacement. What I liked ref MH was I could send an email and have it filed in the right mailbox [along with email it responded to] - I have tried Email Filing Assistant and so far it doesn't work for me [not sure why and will try again] - and the article I found == https://clean.email/how-to-sort-emails/best-email-sorter on best Email sorter software for 2023 still lists it [why I don't know] -

In any event, is there a plugin for Mail which will allow me to send an email originally or in response which will allow me to choose what folder/mailbox to save it to?

Mac mini, macOS 12.6

Thought I would report my present situation. I downloaded Email Filing Assistant which I have found works fairly well and certainly is an improvement over not having Mailhub. I am running a Mac with Sonoma and once you index your mailboxes it works fairly well--- if you identify the email you want filed and then click on the appropriate mailbox in EFA. I might suggest checking that out because it's about the only thing out there that I know about and I found that it works fairly well. I haven't figured out how to easily file sent emails, but I also haven't really tried. In any event it's been an improvement over having no help at all.

I'm in exactly your situation. MailHub hasn't worked for me in quite a long time due to my OS upgrade. Dervish Software for a while had a website and a forum, but the developer has been absent from both for several years, and now they are both shut down.

So MailHub is gone. I know people have tried to contact the developer via snailmail and even offered to purchase the code. I've never seen any report of updates or new versions, so my assumption is that it's never coming back.

Re Email Filing Assistant. I use it daily because I can at least get my filing done quickly. But its promise of being able to send and file has never worked for me. Its predictive filing ability is spotty. It crashes from time to time. It requires a separate window. Considering that Apple Mail's own predictive filer is decent, EFA serves me more as a backup, but one that is very handy. EFA also has some additional features that I don't make use of and that don't exist at all in Apple Mail. So whether it's 'good' or not depends on your needs.

I've also checked out all the other plugins for Mail I can find, and at this time I've not found anything even close to MailHub. There is a full-featured program called Mail Butler, but it is geared more for enterprises and thus has its developer feasting on your wallet via an expensive subscription plan.

I'm wondering whether it's time to switch mail programs, but I'm not that desperate yet. I'm curious about the open source Thunderbird but have not fully explored it. Unless it has a robust autofiling program there's not much point in my switching.

Considering your specific requirements it’s very doubtful you will find a solution. Have you tried to contact the developer of MailHub to see if an updated version exists that is compatible with Apple Silicon Macs? Reputable developers keep up with changes.

Bottom line, time marches on. Apps that don’t keep up with modern hardware and software often become unusable.

After working and thinking on this abit I think my own need is more for filing when I send = ie Reply to X gets filed, along with the original email, somewhere= I'd prefer to choose it myself. But just to avoid having to then go into the Sent mailbox and find those things I want to save in a folder is a pain - so far that's all I can think of to do.
