primarily relies on web-based tasks and Google's productivity suite, a

Chromebook can be a more affordable and efficient option.

A new iPad w/ cellular data connectivity - and a ruggedized protective case - is a tough product to beat for mobile field work.

(note that you’ll still need a phone to make “plain ‘ol phone calls”)

That said, if it can’t run the software YOU and/or your agency need to run; it’s worthless.

I'd think the least expensive entry level notebook would work well for such light duty. maybe even a pad; one of the larger ones for ease of viewing.

Then why change?
