I have tried everything to get my GoogleMaps to give me directions out loud with a voice. No luck! Suggestions?

Check out Google’s support site for Maps.
If it works like Apple Maps, when you are navigating there will be a speaker icon on the screen; tap on that and it will have an option to turn the speaker on.
Also, go to Settings/Google Maps and turn on Notifications.
