New (2nd hand) AirPods keep giving notifications

Hi all,

recently i bought some airpods pro's from my dads friend who wasn't using them. Now i constantly get notifications from Find My that 'someone can see my location'; meaning the AirPods are still to some extent registrered to his Apple ID. Even though he deleted them from Find My, etc.

How do I solve that?

Thanks in advance!

Hey casper1345,

If the previous owner removed the AirPods from their Find My, you shouldn't receive the notification. Even if the device was still under the previous owner's Find My, that notification should be send to the Apple ID owner and not you.

You may be receiving the notification from your own Find My feature if you registered your AirPods with your Apple ID. Please see this article for more information about separation alerts for your AirPods here: Get separation alerts if you leave your AirPods behind

Let us know if this helps!

Best regards.
