2023 Mac mini pro 2 Triple monitor question
Hi all, could someone please help with the following, i had a triple monitor setup since 2013 ( 1 x iMac late 2013 & 2 x thunderbolt 2 cinema displays ) Imac in the middle, I've just upgraded to 2023 Mac mini pro 2 16gb & 1 tb, I've also bought a studio display to replace the Imac and be my main monitor, the other screens are basically desktop extensions.
Ive plugged the Studio display into a thunderbolt port, and I've also added one of the cinema displays to the same ports using apples thunderbolt 2 - thunderbolt 3 dongle, these work great and both thunderbolt monitors work if plugged in together and the studio display removed.
My question is this can i adapt the 3rd monitor ( thunderbolt 2 ) to run through the HDMI port using an adapter of any kind ( that works ) I've bought one off amazon and it doesn't work, the one with the mini usb power supply....
I also tried it on the studio display to take the apple dongle out of the equation but this didn't work either and I'm assuming that its because of the 5k resolution ( which i didn't want to lose but was just checking the adapter )
..... or can i buy a dock ? the Ugreen dock promises to trick the mac with software to provide an extra port although I'm not sure if this will work with thunderbolt 2 your help and advice here would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone has solved this problem by any means please let me know as my setup is perfect for me and i don't want to get rid of any of the cinemas displays if possible.
thanks in advance
