After installing the latest u[date, my Klipsch bluetooth speakers now need a much higher setting to produce the same volume level.
iMac 24″, macOS 13.3
Tried a simple fix, killed power to the speakers and then restored it, seems to have worked, i'll give your suggestion a try if the issue returns.
FWIW, I don't know how a security update could affect volume levels. I suppose anything is possible.
You can send Apple feedback if you like. They won't reply but they will read it.
You can try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. Sometimes that will fix anomalies.
