Transferring .mp3 files to iOS 5 iPod

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone is able to aid me in adding .mp3 files to my old iPod touch which happens to run iOS 5.1.1?

I dug it out and would really love to start using it again however I haven't transferred music from a laptop to an external device like this in a while and it appears everything has changed since. I cannot find anything thus far that shows how to do this process as most cases people are wanting to get old music off their old devices not onto them.

Any aid would be gladly appreciated.

As long as your computer recognises your iPod nothing much as changed. See Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod using your computer – Apple Support (AU)

I have done following but Itunes did not sync my MP3 files

(1) copied to folder "C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\自動加入 iTunes" (which strangely remained Chinese even though my Windows 11 language setting is now changed from Chinese to English)

(2) Import Setting is MP3

What worked for me is to rename iTunes Media location with following steps (for Windows 11 Home Version):

(1) delete existing iTunes Media Location in Preferences-Advanced "C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\自動加入 iTunes" from iTunes

(3) delete folder " C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\自動加入"

(4) add folder "C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes\"

(5) add location to iTunes " C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes\"

(6) if iTunes freezes for unknown reason

(7) reboot Computer

I suspect when iTunes was installed, my Windows Display language was Chinese; after switching language to English, iTunes probably expected "C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes\"

but Windows 11 folder name instead of showing the English Name, it still showed:

" C:\Users\MyName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\自動加入"

iTunes probably does not recognize its Media location because Windows 11 does not show it in English.

This may explain why my steps (above) the issue.
