Apple TV does not remember my bluetooth audio receiver connection

Every time I turn on my apple TV, it plays audio through the HDMI connection and I have to manually tell it to connect to my Bluetooth audio receiver. Why?

This answer is not helpful. Clearly the question is the user wants the temporary audio output to be permanent and persistent across reboots.

Unfortunately, apple only makes this available with apple tv 4k or newer models. As to why? The only answer I can think of is they want you to upgrade as there is no hardware limitation to this feature otherwise.

Short answer, you can’t do it unless you have a 4k ATV or newer
