Can I link the Numbers app to financial institutions ? I notice that in the Portfolio I made, the symbol for stock and bond mutual funds are recognized/identified by the market exchanges. What is the extent of this?
How are you trying to "link"?
If you are using the STOCK or STOCKH function in Numbers then you will need to use the symbols used by Yahoo! Finance.
In general Numbers can be useful for analyzing your portfolio, but I would be cautious about trying to make it behave like portfolio management software.

Sorry but I still find this confusing. Your post title has the word "link" in it yet you know write that you did not try to link.
And templates can't "respond" to anything. A template is what you find at File > New in your menu to start a new document with a present format and contents.
If you can clarify what you are trying to do (perhaps include a screenshot) then we can try to help.
