Problem with English in rented movie

I rented ET movie - English was shown as available in audio option in the description of the movie at the bottom.

when started watching only German is available. Not happy especially the kids. How can I fix that for future - assume this evening is unfixable.

What is the country or country-like region for the Apple ID account?

For Germany, E.T. the extra-terrestrial on iTunes - Apple (DE) lists two audio language tracks, German and English.

For Austria, E.T. the extra-terrestrial on iTunes - Apple (AT) lists two audio language tracks, German and English.

For Luxembourg, E.T. the extra-terrestrial on iTunes - Apple (LU) lists three audio tracks, German, French, and English.

For Switzerland, E.T. the extra-terrestrial on iTunes - Apple (CH) lists four audio tracks, German, French, Italian, and English.

On what device are you trying to watch this?

On various devices, users should be able to switch between included audio streams, as described in: Change subtitles or languages for videos in the Apple TV app or iTunes Store - Apple Support

Were you trying to AirPlay, perhaps? Then the language settings for AirPlay on the receiving device are applied.
