Older Mackie Control Surface with Garage Band

I have an old Mackie HUI Control Surface that I would like to use with DAWs such as Garage Band, logic pro and even Luna.

Mackie is of no help at all. I know that this unit is no longer supported but that is all they can tell me. The newer models have the exact same form factor and I'm wondering is there a workaround to connect the old HUI control surface to either my iMac or an Apollo Twin interface.

Any help would be appreciated.

Game Controller Issues Completely new Mac user with the purchase of my M2. I am trying to use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, a Xbox One controller as well as a Xbox Series controller on my new Mac mini, M2 (512gb). Neither the XOne or XSeries controllers will connect via bluetooth or wired; this is problem number 1. The Nintendo Switch Pro controller will (sometimes) connect via bluetooth. If it is connected via Bluetooth then it will work within all of the emulators I want to use it in (Retroarch, Dolphin stand alone etc.). However, I want to use the Pro Controller wired, not wirelessly. This is where I am running into more trouble and I just don't get it. When I connect it to either the USB-A or C slots, the controller is not registered as being connected by my Mac when you look under "Game Controllers." If I look under General>About>System Report>Hardware>USB it shows as being connected (the controller info is present etc.). The Controller has all four lights lit the entire time it is connected if I am not running an emulator. Once I start a stand alone emulator like Dolphin, it goes to one light and works (but still does not register under "Game Controllers" in the Mac's system settings). However, if I load up retroarch, all four lights stay on, and the controller does not work at all. My issue is that I want the controller to register with my Mac mini under Game Controller so I can set and save its profile, and I want to use the controller wired in Retroarch. Any help with this is much much appreciated. Edit: If I remember correctly, the PS5 Dual Sense Controller works fully wired and wirelessly and is recognized under the Game Controller profile in settings on my Mac..I can't verify this this moment as I do not have the controller here with me, but I am pretty sure I tested it before, and it works.
