MacBook Air M2
I just got the Macbook Air with the M2 chip. I was thinking of putting a Protective Plastic Hard Shell Case Cover on it since I see all my friends have one. Is it safe to put one on it/recommended?

Ditto on not using a hard case as it can also cause the MacBook Air to over heat. Plastic is a good heat insulator so putting a plastic case on the MacBook Air is like putting an overcoat on it trapping the heat in.
For transport, you can get a nice soft sleeve to slip the MacBook Air into.
