Is there a Builtin Optical Drive?

Macs with builtin optical drives do not take external USB Super Drives. So, if there is a buildin optical drive, then that is why it is not woking. Seeing macOS 10.13, I would assume there is.

Check with Adobe, as they may have some tooling which allows access to this media.

The iMac 21.5” models all post-date (lack) the integrated SuperDrive.
