Do Not Disturb setup has been made much more flexible, but this has come at the cost of much more complication. To get it working again, do these steps ONCE:

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Focus
  • Tap on any Focus settings that you will never use and remove them (you can add them back later if you change your mind, and even create new, custom ones)
  • Tap Do Not Disturb
  • Tap People
  • Tap Allow Notifications From
  • If anyone is listed who should not call you when DND is on delete them; if you don’t want any calls from anyone, any time, delete all people
  • Tap the dropdown next to Allow Calls From and choose Allowed People Only
  • Optionally, tap on Apps, then Allow Notifications From and don’t add any apps.

All of the above is a one-time setup. After that, turn DND on or off with the Control Center Focus button. You can optionally set one or more schedules by going to:

Settings/Focus/Do Not Disturb/Set a Schedule.

This was helpful however I don’t see a button to turn DND on or off just a button for schedules on or off. What I want is a button to set Focus to Disable like it was never there. It used to not be there then it showed up and turned itself on. I don’t need or want this feature. It just adds unneeded complexity and unwanted programming. Just because some developer thought it would be a good idea it shouldn’t be a manditory feature. I’m a retired engineer and have successfully managed my time for decades.

Thanks for posting again. I had to find the page you pictured but what actually worked to turn off DND was of it’s own making. A pop up offered to shut off DND after one hour; I selected that and one hour later DND was gone. I had a new wallpaper and Lock Screen I’d never seen before but DND was finally off. Then all the things I never wanted blocked showed up. Also I found the list of other Foci but no way to actually remove them as you suggested. I still hate Focus as unnecessary and wish for the not available Disable button but thank all who tried to help me defeat this useless to me feature.
