does apple care plus offer theft and loss

I lost my iPhone in the river, I have apple care plus. Does this cover me? I bought the phone from Best Buy, so would I go to Best Buy for the claim or go straight to apple

Click here and look your unit up; only the plans which explicitly say they cover it will. If you have one, it's handled through Apple.

Is my iPad covered for theft/loss under my apple care policy? I purchased a new iPad from Best Buy last week. I also purchased apple care + for the device. Does this policy cover me for theft or loss, as the iPad was stolen yesterday!!!!!
