LaCie Tight USB C

Hi,

I’ve an M2 Pro Mac mini and two LaCie Rugged HDDs with Micro B USB to USB C cables. The USB C connectors of these cables are quite stiff and don’t click when you insert them. So, I had to push somewhat hard and tight the first time into my new Mac mini. Will these cables damage my USB C ports on the Mac mini? The ports of Mac mini are kinda stiff but with these LaCie cables it’s quite stiff and hard.

Does anyone have the same situation?

Reaching to the back all the time is a drag. I bought a Hagibis stand for my Mac mini. The quality is superb, really. Much better than Satechi for example.

I noticed one funny thing today: I took this very same cable and plugged it into USB C on my M1 MBP. Man, it slid in, snapped and clicked right away! Why is that? On Mac mini it is still extremely tight that can’t click. Should I be worried about damaging the USB C ports of Mac?
