I used to be able to just turn connect to my phones hotspot by going to the wifi tab on my iPad but now it can’t even find it until I go to the personal hotspot tab on my iPhone and it’s super annoying
Have you correctly configured Auto Join Hotspot in iPad settings:
Settings > WiFi > Auto-Join Hotspot - set to Automatic
If set to Ask To Join, or Never, your iPad will not be able to automatically connect to your iPhone hotspot.
