MacBook battery life using Safari 12(or a later version) vs Google Chrome 110(or a later version)
Hello, I'm using a 13-inch 2019 MacBook Air and recently found out and observed that the average power consumption when I use Google Chrome to browse the Internet with energy saver turned on seems to be lower than that when I use Safari for the same sites with the exception of YouTube, in which case the average power consumption is lower for Safari than for Google Chrome. As a result, the battery life of my MacBook seems to be little better when I browse the Internet with Google Chrome than that when I browse the Internet with Safari for the same sites with the exception of YouTube, in which case the MacBook battery life is slightly better with Safari than with Google Chrome.
I have two questions. The first one is, do you fellow MacBook users who use Google Chrome to browse the Internet with have a similar experience to mine? The second one is, why is it different in the case of YouTube and is it possible to adjust any settings on the Google Chrome browser or the YouTube site such that Google Chrome consumes about the same amount of power as Safari while browsing YouTube? Thanks.
