Hey there shin37,

We'd like to help by first learning more about what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. You mentioned there's a charging 'delay', but are we correct in understanding your iPhone charges later and not immediately after plugging it to the charger?
  2. This behavior may be expected due to a feature called Optimized Battery Charging, which is enabled by default, but can be disabled if you choose. The section 'If your device stopped charging at 80 percent' in this link has more details about this: If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge After reading over that section, we wanted to ask if this sounds like what's happening, and do you have Optimized Battery Charging currently enabled under Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging?
  3. If you have a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.4.1(a). You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.

Cheers!
