Hi Guys, with device re-enrollment is there a possibility of personal data being deleted

Hi, we are using Intune MDM, person whose email address was used for MDM push certificate has resigned and we used a different account to generate new certificate.

As per my understanding, we need to un-enroll and re-enroll devices, my question is whether un-enrolling the devices will delete user personal data.

Thanks very much

Depending on the device type, in order to re-enroll the device properly, you may have to wipe the device completely. iOS/iPadOS will require a wipe. macOS does not require a wipe, however, you may have to wipe the device to unenroll.

Best practice is to use a service account for the APNS cert. This account should be in Apple Business Manager and not be tied to a specific user. This way if someone leaves, you don't have to migrate the cert or unenroll/re-enroll all devices (which could be catastrophic at large scale).
