Hi, thanks for reaching out! Try to go to the Settings app on your Apple Watch, then tap Battery > Battery Health. In this area, there should be a feature named 'Optimized Battery Charging'. Disable this feature and see if you are now able to charge your iPhone fully to 100% again. Hope this helps.
Yes!! The last update completely ruined my last phone and made me go to the Apple Store for separate times to the point where we had to completely swap out my phone. Now my watch does not charge and runs out before the end of the day.!!!! Grrrrr so now what????
I have turned off the optimisation, restarted watch, turned back on the optimisation, restarted watch and repeated numerous times. When you get off a 12 hour shift the last thing you think of pressing the battery symbol to get watch to charge fully. Then when you finish work and go to the gym you discover the watches died half way through your workout. This is a new watch and was only upgraded because of the 3G being switched off.
Last update changed the charging profile. My battery optimisation is OFF and watch will never charge past 82%. Even when I catch it at 82% and touch the charging circle, it says it will keep charging but never does.
Big problem for me because I often have long workouts that require a full battery to capture the whole thing. Super frustrating.
There must be a background process that is now preventing full charge regardless of user input.

Mine too. And Apple just replaced my watch. Even when it charges to 100% it drains so fast since the last update. It’s a new watch and only last 3-4 hours

Did anyone figure how to remedy this even if optimized battery charging is turned off? My watch will still only charge to 90%.
I turned it off and it still won’t charge past 80%. This is really frustrating and shouldn’t be a decision Apple makes for me!!!
Same thing happened to me. My watch has never died on me before the day is over now all the time and it doesn’t charge to 100% after being on charger for 8 hours
