Just found out that I was not able to create a shuffle/randomized slideshow of pictures on my iPhone with iOS 16.
Thought it was such a simple thing.
Is there a way to do this?

Photos iOS can no longer shuffle the slides randomly for a slideshow - it used to be possible as described here: https://www.isunshare.com/iphone-ipad/shuffle-photos-in-slideshow-on-iphone-ipad.html.
Now we have to find a third-party app that can do it. I have no idea what will work on an iPhone.

The Options do not include any options to randomize the slideshow. You can change the theme and the music but not randomization. That options existed before. It is no longer there.

You can use these steps to create a slideshow in the Photos app:
1. Tap Library, then view photos by All Photos or Days.
2. Tap Select.
3. Tap each photo you want to include in the slideshow, then tap.
4. Tap Slideshow from the list of options.
5. To change the slideshow theme, music, and more, tap the screen while the slideshow plays, then tap Options.

But isn’t it strange that shuffling photos has been removed as an option?
it is such a small thing and very nice when creating a photo slideshow.
could be it has been removed by a mistake?
Hope Apple could get notice of this thread and add it again. It is like very few lines of code.
Apple has decided they know more better than we do about everything. I spent hours creating slideshows/movie for my mother's 75th birthday, daughter's wedding, etc. When I went to replay them, the music I had on it was removed although I had bought every single song from iTunes or my own CD collection. Apparently since it's not licensed for that use, you can't even play it on your own computer with a movie/slideshow. They replaced it with horrible elevator music and every photo is out of order. So a photo from 1931 is after something from 1985, etc. We have no control on our stuff. They own it all. Next they'll replacing our photos with better looking or uglier AI versions of us. Welcome to the Brave New World.

Thanks, but what I am looking for is how to create a randomized slideshow of pictures. This was easy a few years ago, but now it seems impossible.
Hope someone knows how to do this :-)
