Can't open Excel files on my MacBook Air

Just got my new MacBook Air, transferred all the information from the old one. Everything works perfectly fine, except the excel, when I click on the file, it says “can’t open file”. Can somebody please help me and tell me what to do because this is a very important file.

If you upgraded from an old Mac still running Microsoft Office 2011, or an old 365 subscription, these Microsoft applications are unsupported on macOS Ventura and will need you to purchase Office 2021 for Mac, or start a new Microsoft 365 subscription and download current Microsoft 365 applications. If this is the case, once you resolve this, you can open all of your Microsoft documents.

Is your version of Excel compatible with your new MacOS version?

What version Microsoft Office do you have?
