Apple TV voice assistance

I have had some recent issue with my Apple tv player. Basically, it’s that I can’t fully shut off my voice assistance. I went through all the troubleshooting methods and looked through the community posts for an answer. And although I partially shut down the voice assistance, it’s still announces when I start up my television or adjust my volume up or down.

I’ve done a full reset, which is something I don’t recommend because it erased all my apps.

I have voice assistant shut down on my settings.

So I’m not sure what’s wrong with this is driving me a little crazy.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Are you referring to the Apple TV 'VoiceOver' feature? It's not on by default and to be honest I've never played with it and had forgotten the feature exists (at first I figured you're talking about a feature of your TV rather than your ATV4K :-).

Bummer. I've never encountered such a bug. Have you ever turned VoiceOver on or adjusted the voice it uses? Out of curiousity I searched about it and saw a report that selecting an enhanced voice invokes a similar bug.

Since you're experiencing this bug, have you tried turning VoiceOver ON, doing a reboot, then turning VoiceOver off again?

I’m embarrassed to say this. But I fixed the problem by going into my LG settings and turning off voice assistance. But I never touch my TV remote settings so the problem originated with the Apple TV. And that to me, indicates that it’s a cross device issue.

As I explained the issue is that Voice Over does not turn off completely. It announces when I turn the TV on. Or when I adjust the volume up or down. Previously it provided an unwanted narrative incessantly. Now it only affects these two aspects of the control. That is that I have experienced this far. For a concern that prides itself on being a high tech company there sure are a lot of bugs in this system.

If I did not know better, I would think it was Microsoft product.
