MacOS 13.2.1 (22D68) - secondary display doesn't change resolution

After update tp OS 13.2 secondary display on Macbook air M1 resolution set to 800x600. Display connected via VGA cable for 2 years already. Other interfaces than VGA are not available.

  1. I see other resolutions in the list including 1920x1080 I need.
  2. I'm able to select any resolution in the list but nothing changes. No screen blink, no nothing. Resolution stays intact.
  3. Primary display resolution change works well.
  4. Hardware is ok. I'm able to change resolution with 3rd party app Display Menu. The only problem... I have to change it to 1920x1080 on every login.

So it's looks like a stupid Apple bug.

Any ideas how to resolve it?

First, you may try to update to 13.3.1.

Second, I just noticed another user with the same problem, and he also is using a VGA connected display.

Mine is HDMI and is working fine.

I will have to try a VGA connection and see if it does exhibit the same problem, but it will require me fetching a cable so not right away.

Also, you may want to try switching resolutions while in Safe Mode and see if that makes any difference.
