How do I access automatic printer head alignment software utility for an Epson WF-2540 printer on a Macbook Pro? When I print the head alignment page, only one color is printed (red) with no numbers and 3 sets of alignment rows. Or do I just toss the printer in the trash?
I believe with that (and other) models of Epson printers, you can clean the nozzles and align print heads using the touch screen on the printer, at least that's how I have always done it, I have never tried to do it with a separate utility. If the head is badly out of alignment, you may have to run the print head alignment (and/or clean the nozzles as well) multiple times, maybe 2, 3 or even 4 times in a row before it passes the test page tests. Running these alignments and cleaning cycles uses a lot of ink, by the way. No need to toss it in the trash (yet), but it turns out that the cost of a new printer is typically less than a full set of ink cartridges, so it is the ink use over time that comprises the real cost of a printer.
