Call Button in Contacts works for some, does not work for some

I am having the same issue and noticed you have to hold on the call button and you will see phone numbers below to call. Wondering if there is a way to delete a number if it appears twice, as I have mobile option and other option on some contacts. Any help greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue, all buttons were disabled for all contacts. Changing region back and forth did not help.

Finally, I figured it out. The issue is caused by Lockdown mode. Turning off Lockdown mode fixed the issue for me. Hope it helps!

Just long touch the call button then option will come for phone mobile watsapp etc,, select mobile it will connect the call. Next time your chosen option is remembered and no issue is faced.

I’ve also noticed that problem. It’s not new problem, first time l saw it maybe on the begining of 2023. Currently I have 16.7 Version.

For those who don’t know there is workaround to Call a contact from that view. Jest click on the Phone number directly.

Try to long press the “CALL” and then you will see 2 numbers, maybe the number save in your email and then copied again on your iphone.. hope this helps

There is no appropriate support from apple customer support , they keep on asking do things that are not even related to the issue and at the end, they arrange a call back by senior or expert, the call is never been received, was not expecting such poor service from apple, it just like I’m using a product from an unknown cheap brand.

If anyone still needs it I got a fix from Apple support and it worked!!!

I had the exact same issue and I was told by support to change my region.

So go to settings -> Language & Region -> Region. Change region UK -> US or US -> UK.

Once changed restart your iPhone and click the call option again.

Then close contacts and then change it back to original region, restart once more and it should be fixed.

This worked on iOS 16.4 give it a go and see if it works.

Thank you Nomestacey ,This worked for me. I have an iPhone 14 pro max. I switched my region from US to UK and then back again and now it’s all working fine. . I was going crazy trying to fix this issue

We had the same issue. Go to Settings->General->Transfer or Reset Iphone->"Reset all settings" - This did the wonder and the issue is now resolved. Please note that this will just reset the settings and will automatically reboot the iphone and will not touch your data stored.

it did not work on my iPhone 13 Pro Max but now I can scroll down and click on phone number and that works for the ones that do not let me just push call. I’ll take it to my carrier, as Apple is hard as I have to wait standing so long, they need seats while waiting, for us disabled!
