Menu bar missing and keyboard not working after forced shutdown
Hello everyone,
I work as technical support in an University where we have more than 200 classrooms equiped with Mac Mini. There is a mix of 2014, 2018 and M1 2020 models across the campus (all running macOS Monterey) and we are facing the same problems with all of them:
After a forced shutdown by long pressing power button, regardless of whether we select Cancel or Open in "You shut down your computer because of a problem" window, desktop and dock load correctly but not the menu bar. This is not the only unexpected behaviour: Close/Minimize/Maximize buttons respond erratically and Keyboard does not work if you try to write in a TexBox or an app such as Notes.
All those Mac Mini have the same configuration: Just one user with automatic login, Remote Administration activated, and the following program list: Faraonics DeepFreeze, Microsoft Office 2019, Microsoft Teams, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Logitech LogiTune, Zoom, Skype, and VLC player.
We have tried without success:
-Restarting in Safe Mode
-Uninstalling one program at a time, trying to detect if the problem was caused by a specific one.
-Deleting programs Cache
-Uncheking "Hide" related settings in Dock and Desktop configuration.
-Restoring default settings across System Preferences
-Reinstalling macOS Monterey from scratch
-Installing one program at a time after fresh Monterey installation, to find out if the problem appears after executing a specific app.
-Resetting NVRAM and SMC
-Deleting all Library/Cache data
We ran out of ideas. Any suggestion about what we could do? As I said before, the problem persist in 2014, 2018 and M1 2020 models.
