iPhone randomly sliding off of surfaces?

Hello,

I see some older posts from years ago but this just started for me. I am still hanging onto my iPhone 8 plus and recently, I started to use it without a case. I noticed that once I took the case off, it started to slide off surfaces randomly no matter where I set it. The phone could be inches away to start with, and would end up falling on the floor. I see some older posts where other people experienced this with the 8+ model phone as well, but does anyone have an update? I probably just need to get a new phone lol.

We can’t change the physics of gravity, phone vibration, surface pitch, or the Coefficient of Friction between the device and the surface on which it rests. (other than by adding a case)

Suggest a new case.

It’s undoubtedly part of the reason that your “8” is still working.

It would be quite amazing if the iPhone (or any solid object) were to slide on some perfectly level surface while it was motionless. On the other hand, most objects would slide if, say, they were placed on a smooth roof with a 30° pitch angle.
