Mission Control Keyboard Shortcut iPadOS

Is there not a keyboard shortcut on iPadOS for the Mission Control screen? Only the swipe up gesture? I've been Google'ing this but can't seem to find anything.

Hi alanchrishughes.

Thanks for reaching back out to us. The view you see when swiping from the button and holding there for a second is not Mission Control. That is the App Switcher view. This allows you to see which apps are open in the background. This is also mentioned in the following resource here: Switch between apps on iPad - Apple Support

The link we shared in our last response does list a few keyboard shortcuts. If you're using a Magic Keyboard with your iPad and wish to use a shortcut to access the App Switcher, follow this keyboard command:

1.) From the Home Screen or on any app, press the "Globe key" and "the up key" on your Magic Keyboard at the same time.

Also, if you wish to see more available keyboard shortcuts, you can press and hold down the Globe key. This will open a menu of system shortcuts that are available. Just in case you missed it last time, the link we shared also shows you how to customize keyboard shortcuts as well. Just in case, here it is again: Learn iPad keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

We hope this helps. Take care and thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Hey there alanchrishughes.

We'd like to clarify some information with you. In iPadOS, there is no Mission Control view. This is only available in macOS. The link that was previously shared with you, does explain how to use the feature and access it. If you're using an iPad keyboard and wish to go back to your Home Screen without touching your screen. Steps can be found here: Learn iPad keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

* Command-H: Go to the Home Screen.

We hope this helps out. Take care.

Greetings alanchrishughes,

In order to open Mission Control, you have these options:

  • "Swipe up with three or four fingers on your trackpad, or double-tap the surface of your Magic Mouse with two fingers.
  • Open the Mission Control app, which is in your Applications folder.
  • Press the Mission Control key  on your Apple keyboard or Touch Bar." Use Mission Control on your Mac

We hope this helps!

Sincerely.

The app switcher is when you press cmd-tab. I'm talking about the Mission Control screen, just like on MacOS, it shows all of your opened windows/apps/app-arrangements. I use a Magic Keyboard (iMac Magic Keyboard) so it doesn't have a Globe key, pressing fn-up doesn't do anything, cmd-up just scrolls to the top of the page, and option-up doesn't do anything either.
