How to remove guest user

As I was logging on to my MacBook I noticed a guest user icon appeared on my screen. I was adjusting some of my system options last night but I never created a guest user. And worst of all is that I’m unable to remove it. It does not appear as an option on the system preferences either. HELP!!!!

The guest user is a built-in part of macOS, and cannot be deleted.

macOS versions prior to Ventura:

System Preferences > Users & Groups > tap the lock and authenticate to allow changes > tap the guest user > disable guest logins.

On macOS Ventura:

System Settings > Users & Groups > tap the information ℹ️ button next to the guest user > disable guest logins.
