Is there an easy way to open a terminal at the current directory in Finder?

I found an option to open a terminal in a directory via the services feature, but you can only activate it from the parent directory of the directory where you want the terminal.

Is there a feature/way to easily open a terminal to the currently displayed directory in finder easily? An icon right on the finder toolbar would be ideal.

On Ventura 13.3.1 (a), and in Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services panel > Files and Folders, there are two services that need to be enabled, if not already:

Once that is done, right-click on your random depth folder in the Finder and from the secondary Services menu, you will see both of the above services available to you.

I'm not.

I'm mildly amused that this actually exists in the OS. This was a project that I abandoned over a decade ago. Here's an open source version that someone made from my old script. Even that project is over ten years old. It was a neat trick, but I guess I just stopped using the Finder at some point?

Thank you for that! We're getting closer!

I'm still hoping there's a way to just add a button to go straight there, but this is better than having to go up one directory, then access it via context menu and go back to where I as before. This is good!

I'm mostly a Linux user, I'm so used to having such easy access to the terminal which is such an efficient way to get many tasks done. I'm really hoping there's a way to do the same on this mac.

Interesting. Actually looks very much like what I'm trying to achieve. I wonder if it still works? The installation instructions though say to download it as a .dmg file, but the link provided is broken.

But that's the problem. The operating system already does this. You don't need that app. This was just a tangent I inadvertently started because I didn't realize Apple had added this functionality to the operating system.

Chances are that you probably won't wind up using it that much. That's probably why I forgot about it completely. I just don't use it. For Mac-things, I use the Finder. For Unix-things, I use the Terminal. It is possible to cross those lines, but in practice, I very rarely do that. It's like having two computers in one.
