Is my iphone replaced?

My iPhone 12 suddenly stopped taking charging from cable. Cleaning the charging port and a brand-new cable did not resolve the issue, so I sent it to Apple for repair. I just got notice that repair was completed, and the phone was shipped back to me. However, when I check its warranty status in Apple Support, it says "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced". Does that mean Apple simply sent me a replacement phone without repairing at all? Thanks for info.

Yes. That's how it works. Apple does not usually do 'repairs' beyond a battery or screen replacement. They replace the entire phone. Check the warranty status using the serial number of the phone they send you instead of your original phone.
