Getting error as "serial number has been replaced" when checking coverage for my refurbished iPhone 13 Pro Max

Subject:  "Device Has Been Replaced" Error & Warranty Check

I purchased a refurbished iPhone 13 pro max from FNAC France online. When checking coverage on checkcoverage.apple.com, I receive the error:

"We’re sorry, but this serial number has been replaced. Please check your information and try again."

I need your help to:

  1. Confirm if this device is an official Apple replacement unit.
  2. Verify its warranty status (original purchase date + remaining coverage).
  3. Understand why it was marked as "replaced" (e.g., prior repair, replacement program).

That means the device in your hand was replaced by Apple as damaged or defective or because it was reported lost or stolen or was stolen from inventory or while in transit.

Apple won't touch that device at all. It has no warranty and you can't get out of warranty service for it from Apple or any authorized service provider.

Return it to wherever you got it and get your money back.
