How do you keep your MacBook Pro cooled down in hot climates?

So how do you keep your Mac laptop cooled down in hot climates when you don't have air conditioning? I can't seem to find an acceptable answer to this. Yes, I understand "ideal conditions" but in many climates the temperatures soar above 95ºF/35ºC. Not everyone has access to air conditioning. I teach classes on Zoom and need to share the screen. I realize that the video and screen sharing are causing it to heat up faster, but I can't just quit working until I have ideal conditions. What have others found helpful? I have a cooling pad with only 1 fan. Would a cooling pad with 2 fans be better?

Preventing an Overheating Mac:

Power off the Mac, to let it cool, and then try clearing space.

Try the following:

I. Cool Down the iPhone:

For a few hours, perform the following...

  • Power Off: the iPhone for a bit
  • Unplug: any cables
  • Place it Atop: Laptop Cooler
  • Keep it in: an open space
  • Keep it Out of: direct sunlight

II. Clear Space:

Resources may become swollen up. So, clear space. Here is what to consider deleting:

  • Unneeded Items (i.e. iTunes MoviesTV Shows, and Music)
  • Extremely Large Files (i.e. Virtual Machines)
  • Clear: Temporary Internet Files (cookies and cache).
  • Empty: the Trash

Cooling fans can carry away heat, but will do nothing to reduce ambient temperature. Your MacBook Pro's specifications require an ambient temperature of between 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C).

Exceeding those limitations will cause the Mac to perform slowly, reduce its battery life, shorten its lifespan, cause it to spontaneously shut down, or all of the above.
