Why do I require a payment method for a 3 month free trial?

You do, however, need to cancel it, if you do not want the subscription to auto-renew.

not sure what you think to accomplish by depending with other users here

a valid means of payment been required from day one in their itunes store and later app store also to get free stuff.

Method of Payment Requirements:

You need at least one Method of Payment associated to your account. This is because even free apps have the option to purchase items from within them.

It’s not false advertising because you are not charged for your free trial period. If you choose to continue to subscribe after the free trial then, and only then, will charges begin.

So don’t accept the free subscription. That’s free, too.
