Safari runs VERY slow compared to Google Chrome

Hi,

I'm having issues with Safari pretty much the same as in this post. I've tried everything suggested and nothing helped. I even read somewhere tha switching to compact mode helps but it didn't help me. The most lag that I am experiencing is on websites like Facebook, various web shops, YouTube and so on. I've tried turning of "ambient mode" on youtube but that didn't help either. I have fiber connection at 250 megabits per second and that isn't an issue either. Besides that Chrome runs pretty fast.

Is this really a niche thing that happens only to a handful of users that Apple doesn't want to do anything about?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have Comcast 1gb service and when I do a speed test on “speedtest.net” - safari is always below 100 mbps. I run the test (same day/time) on Chrome, Duck Duck Go, and Brave browsers and they all show up at over 900 mbps. I’m not sure why Safari has this issue. I’ve tried to adjust settings but nothing seems to improve the speed. I’m seriously thinking of switching my default browser to anything be Safari!!! Apple better wake up and not have the same thing happen with Safari as with their MAPS app.
