I am trying to use a non Apple keyboard with Mac Mini

Some time has passed between the start of this thread and now.

Perhaps options may (or not?) appear in additional features here:

'Symbols' choice in Keyboard viewer options, can show a variety of alternatives; to hashtag, etc.

[With the Mac OS, you can view "show Keyboard Viewer" from the menu bar

near the clock, on many systems main desktop. ~ Options from there also

lets you choose to "show Emoji and Symbols". Might 'be on-Or-off' by Default.

There are options too with using keystrokes, with Windows in BootCamp;

running in MacOS.. May -or not- show "hash #." Generic PC keyboards

output, may differ between Windows, &/or other non-apple builds.

Seem to be missing some bookmarks; perhaps saved in different browser?

Typing passwords is best done with any older Apple USB keyboard, even

much older ones could still work. Ones from second-hand stores do Fine.

Do remember the names of the keyboards?

Try the rightmost key on the middle row (that’s a British pc layout)

try switching keyboards with the globe key or control space

What does it produce instead?

How are you trying to produce #? Which keys?
