Is there a way to get Siri to stop saying uh huh when I say “Hey Siri”?

I’ve seen a lot of discussions about this but no solution except “talk fast enough that she doesn’t have a chance to say it.” I saw one person responding (don’t remember where) that they asked Siri to stop saying uh huh and she said okay. I tried that and she just said she didn’t understand. Is there a way to get her to stop saying uh huh? Because for some reason it’s really annoying. It’s too casual and human-like for a voice assistant. I don’t want to change Siri’s language from American English. This is for an iPhone SE 3rd gen, no iOS updates available.

iPhone SE, iOS 16

Try it, but you'll be disappointed. That won't stop Siri from saying Uh Hun if you pause after waking Siri. It just keeps Siri in listen mode longer after you've stopped asking Siri your question. There is one and only one way to stop Siri from saying Uh Huh and that is to NOT pause after waking Siri and simply ask your question with NO PAUSE after waking Siri by name.

Just thought I would add my Buck 50 on Siri’s lightning fast uh-huh confirmation BS, since we are now into iOS 18, and the issue is still an issue. What is it going to take for them to fix this!? (Also, the addition of an interrobang to the keyboard would be nice and don’t even get me started on not being able to italicize every and anywhere you use the standard keyboard. Not 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 in iMessage) Anyway, We all see the iridescent orb pop up. We all hear the ding 𝘢𝘴 the iridescent orb, pops up, so we are all aware that she is awaiting our command… with all of the alternative virtual assistants that are popping up everywhere now due to Advancement in AI; You would think Apple would finally want to clean it up. (Sorry for the typos I angrily typed this through VC) ( ; ( :

this is not true. I will literally rattle off, “hey siri Start a timer for five minutes“ with absolutely no pause, and it will still say “uh huh”. it just feels arrogant and I don’t need to be annoyed at a phone.

I don't know what to tell you. If I pause, Siri will way uh hun. If I don't pause, Siri doesn't and never has on either of our iPhones.
