Removing devices I purchased under my exes account and placing on my own account and ID

My partner of 28 years and I have ended our relationship. I purchased a laptop and iPad under the account we had together. I have since opened my own account with my own Apple ID. How do I put my devices on my Apple ID and account And it be in no way connected to my exes account and ID ?

You'll need to log out of the account in settings > apple ID.
