Apple Music Song Formatting Issue

Suddenly anytime I wish to change the format of some songs, say from MPEG to AAC, Apple Music on macOS changes the format but also changes the length of the songs to the exact same length, or truncates the length of all the songs cutting them off sometime before they’re supposed to end. (See enclosed image.)

Often with other apps I can change the prefs, or delete cache files, to reset the application, but I’m now sure how I can do that in this case with Apple Music. Of course I can think of anything I might have done to cause this to happen and I have to manage a lot of music so this is actually big issue.

Has anyone else experienced this before? If so, any fixes?
