More recent version is already installed, or you could not run MacOS 10.13

The firmware file you are referencing I believe is only meant to be used in the event that a firmware update fails and is meant for creating a bootable macOS USB stick in an attempt to reset the broken firmware. Even if the file you have is an actual firmware updater, then it is way out of date like @Grant mentions. Your laptop has already had macOS 10.12.x or 10.13 installed which has updated the system firmware to the new revisioning as shown in your screenshot of the Apple System Profiler. The older firmware utilized a different versioning scheme than shown in the screenshot.

I verified on my MacBook Pro 8,2 that 87.0.0.0.0 is the latest version of firmware.

There is no need to pursue firmware update 2.7 -- it is FAR older than what you already have.

Try to check your firmware version with About This Mac... > System Report if it's already updated.

that appears to be a 1600 by 900 display with Analog VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs.

it does not look like Apple ever made an adapter for thunderbolt-2 to HDMI. What make&model adapter and cable are you using?

what make&model display are you connecting?

what cables, adapters and docks are you using to make the connection? please mention every item.

maybe your HDMI adapter has died?
