No Voicemail after switching from Android to iPhone

Hi,

Today I transferred everything across from an Android to a new iPhone 11 for my Dad, however the I can’t get voicemail

to work.

When I go into his phone > voicemail > greeting > the custom recording is saved and I can play it back to listen.

I can long hold 1 to call voicemail and go to mailbox setup, again in there the recorded message is set correctly however still within voicemail it says No voicemail and when I call him, his voicemail doesn’t pick up. It just goes straight to the automated ‘leave a message that will be sent as a text.’

I’ve been into settings > phone and updated the voicemail password and I’ve turned the phone off / on / airplane mode to no avail. Does anyone know how to resolve? He’s with Optus and had a recorded voicemail on his Samsung that sent the recording to him as a text.

Please help! Corinne

*86

If in the U.S., dial *86 (star-eight-six), and then perform the call. See if you can hear the message. Report back if that does the trick.
