How to fix Finder folder search Issues on MacBook Pro post Ventura update

Same problem. Find searches whole Mac but when I choose the folder nothing is found! Brand new silicon iMac. It worked fine with all my older Macs. Frustrating.

Unfortunately, this didn't work. The 'local folder' search fails both in Safe Mode and after a normal restart. Guess I'll call Apple.

The solution I posted before works for many people. A few have reported that it does not work, but not many compared to the ones that it has fixed.

I'm having the same problem in Sonoma when searching for files on an external hard drive. I dragged the file to my desktop and search found it right away.

This worked for me.

The 3rd rep approached worked perfectly for me, even without the restart operation.

Rebuilding the spotlight index does not work for some people. The instructions you copied and posted I’ve been linked to several times already.

How do you "search the whole computer"?

I already have "Search: This Mac" selected, but it still shows no results.

I have the exact same problem. Is there a fix for that yet from Apple? How do we inform them of the issue?
