Iphone XR performance degrade with every update

I have been using iPhone XR since 2019, i started experiencing battery drain from issues from iOS 16 onwards may be earlier, but didn't realize though. But now after iOS 17 upgrade, the battery drain issues became much worse than earlier. I visited Apple store and they recommended me to change the battery, i spent $100 for battery replacement on Nov 2023. I do not see any improvement with new battery as well, i felt there was no use of changing battery. I visited Apple store again, associate informed me that, old phone vs new iOS might be the issue. So, that means, Apple wanted their users to upgrade to new phones. Apple should focus attention to previous phones doesn't degrade with new iOS software updates. I am left with no solution and continue using iPhone XR with battery drain problem. This is not expected from Apple.
