i have a question, for my work we are using the shopify POS app, for this we use a scanner that is in keyboard mode so the ipad detects this as an keyboard. the problem is that now we cant use the ipads keyboard on the ipad in the shopify app, does anyone know a solution to this?

You have encountered a limitation of iOS/iPadOS - in that when an external keyboard (USB or Bluetooth) is connected, the on-screen keyboard is suppressed. When you tap the iPad screen input field to type, do you see a graphic or popup similar to this?
If you do, as a workaround, tap the Keyboard icon - and tap Show Keyboard:

As such, the workaround to use the onscreen keyboard isn’t available.
The remaining alternative is to use an additional external keyboard in place of the onscreen keyboard - either connecting both the Keyboard and Scanner using a USB hub, or perhaps using a Bluetooth keyboard.
You may want to reach out to Shopify on this. I know there are several platforms for POS that support a barcode scanner while still allowing access to the on-screen keyboard.
